September 2009

Tech Talk29 Sep 2009 12:24 pm

This summit ran between the 24th and 26th of September. Hosted by InspiringApps in conjunction with ARBP and held in Boulder, Colorado. This town is a great place to visit, especially when you’re into anything outdoors (except for surfing – although there was a surfing diner somewhere in Boulder).
The sessions that ran were all quite relevant to almost everything that I do, and of course, some more than others.

Today was the final day of the RB summit and a group of us ended up heading to Estes Park, since we were not locals and wanted to check out a bit of the area. The colours of the season were spectacular.

Decided to bike to Golden Gate Park and onto Ocean Beach since it was supposed to be 31 degrees. Unfortunately, the fog came in and it was freezing – also the water didn’t look very clean either. Then rode up and over the bridge and hopped onto the west side of the bridge for some nice shots – since I didn’t have the fog when I was there last. The ride continued down to Sausalito for lunch before hopping on a ferry back (I wasn’t in the right state to ride up the stupid hill again).

I headed out to Candlestick Park today to check out the 49ers play against the Seahawks. My first NFL game that I’ve seen in whole. I thought I’d lap up the opportunity to do something the locals do around here – and yes – quite a few people do attend these games. One word of advice would be to leave your bag at home since there are no backpacks are allowed into stadiums. The game was a blast, however, it is a lot more expensive than League tickets – about 100 USD for the cheapest seats, although the stadium is laid out quite nicely, unlike ANZ stadium where you can’t see a thing from the bottom level, let alone the top level.

Good day in all – feeling the jet lag, so I’m glad I didn’t fly straight into the Summit.
