Long and eventful week where it ended with the new wireless system up and running. I might have a write about it during the week. It involved setting up FreeRadius and Samba to communicate for the authentication process – which was the main problem. WIth all the changes in versions regarding FreeRadius – most online help referred to versions dating back to 2005 which weren’t so helpful.

Today I had a birthday BBQ to attend and following that was Go Karting at Eastern Creek. As we waited for everyone to turn up, it started to hail, and then pour and then the sun came out. We suited up in preparation to get going and then it started to pour again. Bit of a shame, but it might happen next week instead. A couple photos from today:

Tomorrow – last wedding shoot for me for the year. A bit of a long one, but it should be ok. Kind of just looking forward to work this week. I’ll try for a longer update during the week, since its getting late and I need to get some rest.

Hi everyone,

This slideshow has been a long time coming, and there are quite a few people to thank for my trip. More details on this slideshow in the Europe 2008 page.

Cheers,

Work has been a bit nuts over the past week. I’ve experienced for the first time, working really hard on something, only to have it fall through. I guess in my case it was only a smallish component which took me about 3 days of work to get it working and to the original spec, but it seems the spec was incorrect and the stakeholder also cannot express confidently what the spec should be. We’ve decided that it won’t be in scope for the December release, but for the February/March release. I’ve been told that in many larger organisations, things like this happen all the time where projects fall through for all different reasons and the time spent on them is a lot larger than a few days work.

Quiet weekend just relaxing and training just a bit. Class today – photographed conditioning which occurs at every class which focuses on the core strength of a person and the overall fitness. Certain movements will provide complete use of most bodily muscles such as the quadrupedal movement. Also featured is a shot from my mate Kenny which I’d have to say is a pretty nice shot.

The following was taken by Kenny:

Now just a bit sore for the working week ahead.

Yesterday afternoon / evening, after work, I headed into Circular Quay on the way to the Rocks to meet up with the parkour guys and snap up a few more shots armed with the 50mm. The Rocks Markets by Moonlight is on every Friday evening this month and last night, Paris Wells and the Potbelleez performed. After that, a nice walk along the harbour where I snapped a few shots of the guys I was with. Photos:

So today and tomorrow, EA games hosted a launch party for Mirrors Edge outside Customs House in Circular Quay. The parkour guys (all from around Australia) were hired to perform each day, and several promotional pieces over the last few weeks. More about the parkour inspired game at http://mirrorsedge.com.au

So I took out both the fisheye and the wide angle with me. The stage was set up already and the performance was kept to a small scale. I would’ve preferred to have seen some work around Circular Quay. It was more of a documenting day. The photos:

Not having fisheye shots all the time is slightly more pleasing to the eye. Finally I can get some rest before tomorrow.

Cheers
